چکیده

This paper deals with the optimization of the catalytic convertor for CNG Lean burn Engine based on BS4 compliances. In addition to the present catalytic convertor the work is carried out for the optimization of catalytic convertor and also to meet the BS4 compliance and also to reduced cost for the same. In this project we have prepared the samples with some variation in the substrate with respect to each other on which the Palladium group metals (PGM) coating is applied. The mass of the substrate and the Coating decides the weight and the cost of the Catalytic convertor which was reduced. Secondly main concern was the 100% utilization of the substrate. This was achieved by working on cann in terms of the Cone angle and the length before the substrate.

An Experimental and Theoretical Study of the Effects of Excess Air Ratio and Waste Gate Opening Pressure Threshold on Nox Emission and Performance in a Turbocharged CNG SI Engine

Turbocharged CNG engines produce high NOx emission due to the fuel type and high combustion temperature. In this research, the effects of lean-burn and waste gate opening pressure threshold on NOx emission are studied theoretically and experimentally at WOT condition as well as 13-mode ECE-R49 test cycle. A code is developed in MATLAB environment for predicting engine NOx and the results are va...

Optimization of NOx Storage Performance through Modifying Catalyst Composition and Alumina Support

The usage of lean-burn engines is a promising strategy for improving the fuel economy of vehicles and reducing the emission of greenhouse gas CO2. The most complex challenge for leanburn engines is the need to find a solution for the increased levels of NOx emissions. Lean NOx trap (LNT) or NOx storage-reduction (NSR) catalysts provide a very effective method for NOx removal in lean-burn gasoli...
